The Best Historical Materials Committee of the Reference and User Services Association, an affiliate of the American Library Association, has selected editors Christina Lee and Ricardo Padrón's reader, The Spanish Pacific, 1521-1815, as one of the Best Historical Materials of 2020 and 2021.

Annual Award of The Friends of the Royal Armoury, Stockholm

Scholarship prize for meritorious research that increases knowledge and interest in Sweden's history. The winner of this year's award is Fabian Persson with his book Women at the Early Modern Swedish Court.

Society for the Study of Early Modern Women & Gender (SSEMWG)

  • Merry Wiesner-Hanks wins the 2021 SSEMWG Collaborative Project Award with her edited volume Challenging Women's Agency and Activism in Early Modernity.
  • Ulrike Strasser wins 2021 SSEMWG Book Award with her book Missionary Men in the Early Modern World: German Jesuits and Pacific Journeys.

Sixteenth Century Society & Conference (SCSC)

  • Robert Christman wins the 2021 Gerald Strauss Book Prize, for the best book in the field of German Reformation history, with his book The Dynamics of the Early Reformation in Their Reformed Augustinian Context.
  • Paula Hohti Erichsen wins the 2021 Roland H. Bainton Book Prize, for Art and Music History, with her book Artisans, Objects, and Everyday Life in Renaissance Italy: The Material Culture of the Middling Class.
