We are always happy to hear from journals or magazines who wish to publish a review of one of our books, or from a scholar who is considering one of our books for course use.
With the pressures caused by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and now of Brexit, AUP has taken the decision to stop sending physical review copies to journals and reviewers who are based in the EU. The Brexit deal is having an enormous impact on distribution between the UK and the EU and the courier services used by our distributor Ingram Publisher Services UK (formerly NBN International Ltd.) are struggling to get shipments past EU customs. This is due to the sheer number of shipments that customs now have to deal with on a daily basis. We have been advised by our distributor to only send digital copies to recipients based in the EU for the time being. This is an unfortunate development in a policy that has had to be frequently adapted throughout last year with regard to Coronavirus delays (see below). We hope to be able to revise this policy in the coming months as this new Brexit situation starts to settle.
Due to the measures being taken to stop further spreading of the Coronavirus, many university buildings and businesses remain closed. This is having an impact on delivery services and our warehouses who are receiving many returns where couriers have been unable to make the delivery. Additionally, high increases in demand and with more orders being delivered to private addresses than ever before, there are major delays in shipments. These delays across the globe due to the Coronavirus are beyond anyone's control, but publishers and distributors are doing their best despite the current situation. In line with other publishers, AUP are sending digital review copies.
